Starting a new pile on the nightstand

calling it the trash pile. won't bother listing stuff most likely, cause it's trash. Like Pet Shop of Horrors. anyway, i blame reading the twilight series.

four days... four books.

I bought Twilight cause it was on sale Valentine's day and I figured what the heck. Started reading it Monday night and haven't done anything with my free time but read the whole series since then. can't really explain why I loved it, something about the story part of it got to me, cause the writing occasionally grated (someone get that woman a thesaurus "OMG his eyes are smoldering again") but obviously not enough to kill it for me.

so now I can go back to "serious" stuff. or not. probably more Ambrose Bierce, Algernon Blackwood and Arthur Machen. Cause I'm old school like that.

before I purchase again. Dollar books and cds are going to be the death of me.

Anyhoo, added to the pile now, Lucifer's Hammer, House of the Spirits, Atonement and Fables vol. 1.

I read Fables when it first came out, but quit buying comics somewhere midway through, interesting to see the recent TV shows that borrow the premise of having fable characters in the real world.

Anyhoo, finished The Help and This is Your Brain on Music and Unwritten vol. 1. just started vol. 2 then it's on to something on the kindle.

ordered a sofa online....

had a good experience with getting a bed a few years ago, so, I'm trying this thing. interesting bit is they will send me a swatch and I have to give approval before they will complete the order.

Anyhoo, finished What the Dog Saw and started The Help.

current reading

finished The Red Menace and knocked out march's real Simple and Reader's Digest. So I'm currently reading What the Dog Saw, it's a collection of Malcolm Gladwell essays, he's a pretty entertaining writer. Hoping to get it and The Help read before a trip to Vegas. we'll see.

Have one more Wonder Woman book to read then it's on to The Red Menace, which should take me a while.

stayed up late to finish Blink last night. Received four Wonder Woman trade paperbacks in the mail from RTO, so I'll be reading those instead of the Red Menace for now.

have finished the Tipping Point and Cobwebs from an Empty Skull. nothing really entertaining, except one line about not "taking sides" unless bacon is involved.

so it's on to Blink.
