Quiet

read it yesterday. eh. it was okay. it covered a lot of familiar ground in a kinda chatty way, which might be better for extroverts trying to understand the "other".  anyhoo, on to trash.

oh funny story, I bought a really beat up copy of Atlas Shrugs today for a dollar.  get to the checkout and the guy goes "This shouldn't be in clearance." um, okay, but it was. he let me have it after all mumbling about it being really old and worn out.

sos

got to counting yesterday and it doesn't look like any of the secret office stash will be moved on to the night stand this year. there's currently 35 books on the night stand. and if I read at the same rate as last year that might just get them all read, but probably not as long as the kindle is in the rotation. course it's only January so who knows.

five books so far...

I guess that's not too bad for three weeks.  and not including trash. which I'll be starting today, since I finished The Joy of Hate (signed copy RTO gave me for Christmas). still, not enough books to bring anything out of the secret office stash.

time for trash...

read 11/22/63 over the last few days.  now I need RTO to read it and let me know what's historically accurate and what's completely made up. so now it's time for kindle trash. w007!

order

decided I needed to figure out what to read next in perpetuity, so it goes reading pile, trash pile, kindle thing I'll admit to reading and then kindle trash.  of course any periodicals will jump the line, but there it is.  sooooo, I just finished Bel Canto last night. kinda interesting, the kind of thing RTO hates, basically a bunch of hostages develop stockholme syndrome and I suppose the reader is supposed to as well, but you kinda knew it was going to end badly so I wasn't so torn up about it.

on to the trash pile!

Happy New Year!

Started The Glass Castle on the plane home on the 1st and finished it today.  got a Classical Singer to read before the next book, which will be Dewey's Nine Lives.

Half Price Books is giving away a $100 gift certificate to someone that resolves to read more.  I was lazy and just clicked 52 books. which I guess, technically, isn't more. oh well.
