rodalinda

countertenors still kinda freak me out. also, even the best singers do strange head moves during Handel runs.

something new for dinners

Butternut Squash souffle. It was tasty, but I'm not sure it is enough all on it's own.  I guess we'll see if I get ravenous later.

next chapter is titled

The Valley of Death.  great.  should finish Lucifer's Hammer today.  It's a bit depressing thinking about what you would do if civilization ended.  Would like to think I'd rise to the occasion, but then I think of all the drugs I'm on and doubt I would last very long.

about two thirds through

A Kiss Before Dying.  and OMG it's good and surprising. like me gasping and kicking my feet kind of surprising. eeeeeeeeee! so I highly recommend it even though I'm not even done with it yet.  There's a movie version, but I can't see how they can do the big reveal, guess I'll find out what they do with it.

I'm also about the same amount of the way through The Tao of Music, getting into more touchy feely territory (talking about "Centering" for example) but I did make a playlist made up for one of the exercises for "depressive mood". basically starting with music that expresses how you feel and progressing to how you would like to feel.  can't say I'm anxious to try it out, but at least I know it's there now.

something different....

Usually I only read one thing at a time.  I could never figure out how RTO could stand to have three or four books going at the same time. However, I'm currently just nibbling on The Tao of Music with trash binges between every few chapters. I think it's cause I hate to just skim all the recommended music lists (a lot of the exercises entail making a playlist), but they're hard to pay attention to, so I need a break. at this rate it will take me a while to finish it.
