creeping along

read The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing.  it was a good book for reading while I'm trying to memorize lines.  short, quick read.

I'll probably be reading trash for a while.

progress?

I read Boys from Brazil last week and then some trash, next up is more Ira Levin with Sliver. slowly making a dent in the nightstand pile, except now I have the secret stash in the office. at least it's good weather for curling up and reading. and Spencer the new kitty is pretty snuggly.

melting my brain...

finished War and Remembrance a little over a week ago. read some trash and now I'm reading Music, Language and the Brain.  I think I'm catching about a third of what it's talking about. particularly when in gets into statistics, but it is bringing up some interesting questions.

haven't read too much off of the pile, but I was bad and bought some things anyway....  When you Are Engulfed in FlamesDress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim Lost Death in Venice, The English Patient, The Road, The Hour I First Believed, Eva LunaThe Remains of the Day, and Beloved.

I really am thinking once I get through Music, Language and the Brain that my reading will pick up quite a bit and I can knock out a stack before the end of the year.  we'll see.
