I need

a better puppy containment system. now both dogs have been out the last two nights. Roxie thought she was all smart cause she was here when I got home,but I know better because a little bird phoned me about her. That and she was soaking wet.

Sophie got a ride to a new neighborhood, at first I panicked that she'd run that far, but the guy said he picked her up at the park.

so this morning I was awakened by my neighbor, who still had a house key, bringing Sophie in. Yesterday, I got home to two messages letting me know someone had my dog (but then not really)

I went to go get Sophie and she wasn't in the back yard so I started walking home and I spotted her about halfway down the street. Anyway, the lady that had her told me that her neighbors for familiar with Sophie because she follows them home when they walk by in the alley.

I'm thinking I should just put a tag on her that says "Please let me go, I know where I live, and they will never know I was gone"

we're gonna need a bigger fence.

the "Roxie injury report"
that's the excitement around here lately. went out to the inlaws today and took the dogs. Roxie cut her let somehow RTO thinks it may need stitches. Roxie doesn't seem to be affected by it.

stupid pet tricks...

so the last couple days I've been walking the dogs together cause I didn't feel like walking in the first place so who knows if the second dog would get a walk.

Anyway, passed a couple pit bulls today and Roxie managed to slip free and become a chew toy. It's hard to pull dogs apart when you've got extra dogs involved. Guy with the pits finally got Roxie pinned and his dog off so I could slip her collar back on and tighten it.

*sigh*

while out walking today we met a couple of dogs that weren't on leashes and nobody got hurt.

One dog, it was kinda our fault. We were down the street and she came running after us and then we watched these two little boys chase her all around the park. some kind of medium sized black dog with a couple white spots.

Then later we met a Lab. had already gone by him once while he was on a leash, but apparently his owner let him loose a bit later.

Anyway, loose dogs seem to always be soggy.

It's the first one that's going to be fun. Was taking the dogs for a walk, going out the garage door and dogs from across the alley were out. Roxie got away from me and got a hold of the bulldog (there was also a dachsund, but he was smart enough to not get within reach of my dogs). they wrestled a bit and wound up going through the doggie door and I waited a couple minutes until Roxie came out. Who knows what happened. Then Roxie took off to see the rest of the neighbors. I went ahead and took Sophie around the park and figured someone would have found Roxie by the time we got back, if she didn't find us first. Sure enough, there was a message from someone down the block. Everybody's home now.

We've tried all we can...

..and have decided to find Sophie a new home. She's a Flat Coat Retriever mix about 45 lbs. Healthy, good personality so long as you are not a cat or a squirrel or a bird, especially water fowl.
