and I thought I'd be done with this back in January or something

Been watching The Great Waltz tonight. lots of strange little actors. So I was looking up Miliza Korjus. Mostly because RTO's been making rude comments about her singing. Anyhoo, came up with this article from TIME from 1944 and I love how they put her accent in the quotes.

Even today, Miliza Korjus' vocal career is hard pressed by her zest for life. She dislikes singing in opera houses. "Averybody ees perspiring around," she explains, "the preema donnas are screaming, the stagehands are shouting. I am much uncomfortable een opera performances—besides, I do not like to haf to look over the heads of all the tenors" (she stands about 5 ft. 7 in her stocking feet).

Kittehs got a bath this afternoon. Roxie didn't worry so much about maggie, but Carlos was making so much noise she kept an eye on the bathroom door the whole time, ready to go in and rescue RTO if he needed rescuin'.

Roxie's confused tonight...

She keeps looking at us like she knows she must have done something cause she got a bath tonight, but the kitties didn't.

She got pooped on by a bird.

RTO said he was gonna bathe the kitties as well, but then he didn't.

OCD

I just spent almost an hour changing the genre on a bunch of songs in itunes. I hate having too many genres. "Disney"? who does that? Mostly, I was irked that it had put all the Bach oratorios in "Gospel & Religious". yeah, I suppose they're religious, but for me, "Classical" works better.

I made an appointment, um, almost two months ago (today was the first available appointment then) and they called this morning and canceled for a funeral. Told me Saturday was a possibility because they knew I'd been waiting a while. so I called them back later and rescheduled. I'd prefer to sleep in Saturday, but whatevs. we'll see if I make it.

The fun part was after they left the message I went back to sleep and dreamt about being all angry at them for pushing me to Saturday and then when I got there they want me to do some kooky exercise/touchy feely program with all these other people. I mostly remember telling them I would try it, but I really just needed drugs.

two books down. Reader's Digest showed up a couple days ago. and a Better Homes & Gardens which I may not read cover to cover.

Anyhoo, read Day Watch and Twilight Watch. and last night I found out there's a fourth book. ugh. it will have to wait. fun, fairly quick reads and not too predictable. to me anyway.

I don't know what it is exactly, but they always offer it when you get an allergy shot. I usually decline cause I'm hard core like that, but not today. The "everything else" shot (I think it's grass and tree. mold and cat go in the other arm) stung and it took the girl forever to get it injected. So I was all, "Yeah, slather that on" I guess it helped. mostly it's just the swelling that hits later that bothers me. particularly if I bump into anything. oh well.

in which RTO laughs at my pain...

MK: this tongue thing makes it painful to talk. *sticks tongue out*

RTO: what the heck did you do? you've bruised it and maybe bled a bit.

MK: I was just...

RTO: you were drinking water weren't you? heh

MK: no, I was eating a brownie, not that that makes it make any more sense.

RTO: ha ha, only you could do that drinking water.

MK: eating a brownie.

RTO: yeah, how did that happen?

MK: It doesn't make sense does it? unless I had some kind of tongue spasm or something.

maggie just hissed at Roxie and I noticed that she's lost a couple teeth. The left top "fang" most notably and it looks like maybe the one right behind it. I guess we'll be visiting the vet.

actually, I've been kinda funny about it. There's another person in the show I'm in whose birthday is also today. so I didn't tell anyone it was my birthday too, just said I would make cupcakes for him. I'm just not feelin' it this year.

apparently I overdid it because I haven't been able to get to sleep before four the last couple nights.

maggie and Carlos were both all worked up about some strange cat outside. so Roxie was all worried because both cats were growling and that's not a good thing as far as she's concerned. I finally went outside to see who/what it was cause we couldn't see it from the kitchen window. so of course as I came up to the window from outside the kitty took off. I think it was this one black and white one I see sometimes. It wasn't Kitty. Kitty would have demanded attenshons.

this is all I've got for a while, folks. New show is eating my brain and my evenings for the next month or two.

He showed up last Thursday, before it got cold. and then he was back tonight and got much more attention from Carlos and Maggie.
